Glamis Castle, June 10

S: Glamis castle was not like Sterling or Edinburgh castle because it does not look like it was built as a fortress. It looks more like it was built to be a home or a palace. It is the most haunted castle in Scotland, according to my Horrible History book. Part of the castle is new, and the other part is old. You can go from a room from the Victorian age to a room from the medieval age. I really liked the dining room because its decorations were silver, flashy, and excellent.

E: I liked Glamis castle because it has furnishings for now and like it would have looked in medieval times, not just empty rooms. It was the Queen Mum’s home, and we saw family pictures of the earl whose house it is and the Queen Mum and Queen Elisabeth. Here is one of the ghost stories for the castle:  You could not play cards on Sunday. Some card players got carried away and played through Saturday till Sunday. The devil joined them and sealed up the room (a secret room), and they are still playing cards today. You can see the window to the room from the outside, but there is no way into the room from the inside.

A: I liked the weapons in Glamis castle. They were mostly 16th century and some were middle eastern medieval. The castle was very big and had a lot of fancy furniture. In the big, Victorian dining room there was a fancy and detailed silver boat in the middle of table. It was a wedding gift to some earl dude from the workers at the castle.
