Royal Yacht Britannia, July 1

E: The Britannia was the Queen’s yacht. I liked how in the Queen’s bedroom there is a little box, and if she wanted food or anything – even in the middle of the night – she could push a button and someone would bring it. One of the bridges was made for the queen to stand and wave, and it has a high, solid railing so that if it was windy no one could see if the queen’s skirt blew up.

S: The Britannia is really big. I would get lost in it. It had fancy rooms for the queen and her family. There other rooms for the crew on it. Some were  kind of fancy, some were okay, and some were terrible. There was a fancy dining room and drawing room and living room, and it was hard to believe because it is on a boat. Lots of famous people have sailed on the Britannia.

A guide let me play some dominoes in a roped-off area

A: Queen Elizabeth II traveled around the world on the Britannia. I liked the dining room. It was very big. It had a bunch of gifts to the Queen, like swords, narwhal tusk, and a whale rib bone.

The cleanest engine room ever
