Craigmillar Castle, June 30

A: Craigmillar Castle was built in the 1400s. It’s about 3 miles from Edinburgh Castle. I liked it because it had a lot of secret passageways. Mary Queen of Scots used to go there.

S: Craigmillar Castle is my favorite castle we have seen. It’s a ruin, and you can run in all the rooms. There is no expensive furniture. There are lots of confusing spiral staircases. We got to explore the whole thing with no tour guides or roped off areas.

The family crest: 3 unicorns & 2 crazy lions

E: It is my favorite castle. I liked it a lot because we could just run around it and discover secret passageways and staircases. We played hide and seek in it, and I climbed the trees. We found a secret room down a tiny staircase about two feet wide. It is my favorite because it was so hidden.
